Just imagine: a TV commercial for the Indian market, produced in Malaysia for a Japanese ad agency. Confused? Read on.
This past spring, we were asked to co-produce a spot for the new Ritz, a compact car from Maruti Suzuki, the largest automobile manufacturer in India. Would we be able to put the whole thing together in a foreign land and have it ready to air in India by mid-May? Of course we said "yes."
To complicate matters, the spot called for scenery that just wasn't available in India. So instead, we put the project together across the water in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This meant hiring local production and local crew, and getting the picture car shipped in from India.
It was two months of planning, shooting, post (and lots of plane tickets), but the results are really something else. Click the video below to take a look!
