This spot is one of the latest installments in a popular series of Subaru Forester ads. Here we see our usual starring couple ice fishing, before they hop into their Subaru Forester and drive off over the ice.
Actually though, we shot this in the dead of summer on the Great Salt Flats in Utah. This is a 159 square mile expanse of salt along the border of Utah and Nevada, used often in the setting of land speed records. It's other major use is as "ice" in commercials and films meant to take place in wintery settings. And that's what we were there for, in spite of the fact that the temperature was near a hundred degrees!
The icy atmosphere was added later, courtesy of CGI powerhouse Digital Domain (the same guys who bring the "Transformers" movies to life). Click to watch the finished spot, and be amazed!
